hot hot hot

It’s pretty freakin’ hot in the office. It was 27°C* by the time I left today at lunch. I borrowed a friend’s desk fan, and I think I’ll be buyin’ one tonight. Man. Can’t wait for summer! ________________________ * In the neighbourhood of 80°F.

Not sure what happened…

…but my WordPress had to be reinstalled. I don’t have time to troll the logs right now, but I’ll have a look tomorrow and see if I can figure out what’s up. Enjoy the new/old look; it’s probably gonna change before too long.

So glad I found it

So I went to the judo club today, for a two-hour review of my blue belt and brown belt throws (at some point I’ll be grading for my brown belt; I’m not sure if it’ll be this spring or next fall), and then after that I went and did some shopping. I bought a short-sleeve

Biking

I went for my first bike ride of the season just now. I pedalled till I ran out of dry land. Honest. More photos here. And now I’m off to the Evans.

There’s a subtle trickery to this one that appeals to me, a subverting of expectations when

Inspired by Rob Cockerham’s motto (“Always bring your camera”), I snapped a couple of photos, presented below for your edification. No, I don’t know where the carriages were going.

Crazy Ideas file, #1

This one came to me yesterday on my way home at lunch. I’ve written the first 200ish words, but I don’t yet have a satisfactory ending. Everyone in the entire world sleeps a deep, 24-hour sleep, and experiences the same dream. When they awaken, night has been banished forever. Someone or something has turned the

Research

So I’m going to have to put my current project on the back burner for the time being. I need to do a lot more research, it looks like, before I set a story aboard a 17th-century ketch. What with being a child of the landlocked prairie, growing up in the late 20th-early 21st centuries,
